Afterward, there is a large area in the center of the park in which to dance to tunes spun by our very own BBC'er and Village DJ

The pleasant daytime temperatures and sunshine should be perfect for dancing, playing lawn or table games, sitting in your lawn chairs conversing with friends, or simply watching the boats and planes (???) pass by.

We will also enjoy showing you a beautiful prospective location in Wooton Park for that next big wedding anniversary or your Village club party. 

We’d also like to introduce you to two features of this park which the youngest members of your family would surely love, including this $2 splash pad and the free Wooton Wonderland.  Wouldn’t this be a fun surprise to share with them on their next visit to The Villages!

Remembering our frigid visit to Washington Oakes last January, we’ve decided to stay away from chilly Florida waters and gather, instead, at noon on Monday, Jan. 18th for a FREE
“Party  in  a   Park”
      on lovely Lake Dora in Tavares.  This summer, we stumbled upon the really charming, but little known, Wooton Park on Lake Dora, in Tavares, just a mile past Hurricane Dockside where we had our Christmas party.

Unfortunately, because it's a city holiday, the Pavilion on the Lake will not be open for touring.

Can you believe we have such a special park so near The Villages that few of us knew about??

Best yet ~ Spend as much or as little as you like on that day, a welcomed escape after your budget-busting holiday.

 While it might be a bit expensive (starting at $39), it would cost a lot less than going to Alaska to do it.

Unless you want to sign up for the Premier Boat Tour, you do not need to respond to this invitation.  You can simply show up on the 18th at noon.  The restaurants will be looking forward to seeing most of us.  As always, four days in advance of a BBC trip (in this case, on Jan. 14),  everyone will be sent the full trip details which should answer any questions you may have at this time.  Do plan on bringing a lawn chair, a cooler with any non-alcoholic drinks, and any lawn game or card/board game you'd like to share with us.

 You would need to contact the Jones Brothers Seaplanes at 352-508-1800 to inquire about their schedule and prices.   You could ask them to connect you with any other BBC'ers who may want to share a ride with you to save on costs.  Our Committee is not personally getting involved with making any seaplane reservations.

Premiere Boat Tours also leaves from Wooton Park, offering a guided hour-long tour for $13 sharing with you the ecological features of Lake Dora, including both aerial and aquatic wildlife, as well as the history of the area.  Tips are appreciated.  We will be able to accommodate a total of only 85 people divided between two trips at 2:00 and 3:10.
