Since you will have the entire day at Pass-a-Grille, you'll be able to do any of these things, or all of these things!  You can walk over to Merry Pier and board the Shell Key Shuttle to spend up to 4 fours in the pristine Shell Key Preserve;  you can fish off the Merry Pier with their gear, or gear you brought from home;  you can shop in the historic 8th Avenue area with its abundance of stores and restaurants; or you can hop on the FreeBee Shuttle service that serves the area at no cost and head up to the restaurants on 21st Avenue.

We will not be stopping for dinner on the way back to the Villages, allowing you to enjoy the wide variety of restaurants on Pass-a-Grille.  You don't even have to leave the beach to eat, because Paradise Grill is situated on the sands of Pass-a-Grille Beach.   But in case you do want to leave the beach, our buses will stop back at 3pm and 4:30pm so you can load up your beach gear and have both hands free for shopping or eating.

The only deadline you have all day is to be ready to board your bus to head home at 6:00pm.

There is no lifeguard on duty at Pass-a-Grille Beach.  If you do not feel comfortable swimming without a lifeguard, then either skip this trip or don't swim!

For those beachcombers who want to explore–shelling, snorkeling, bird watching, and viewing manatee--are all options.  Please note, there are no facilities on the island.

Catch the shuttle for Shell Key from Merry Pier at 12 or 2 pm.  Shuttle returns at 2:15 & 4:15 pm, your choice. The cost is $25, and includes a beach umbrella, mask, and snorkel.  You can bring your beach buggy with other needed gear.
