Since it’s too cold to swim in February, we would like to escort you instead to the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park where you’ll have the opportunity to observe a variety of Florida’s native wildlife.  At specified times, park rangers show and discuss a few animals they have selected for the day.  The park is also home to a venerable movie star, so be prepared for the photo op!

We arranged a reduced cost for both the bus and the wildlife park, bringing the total to $31.

This Heritage House and Gift Shop was built in the late 1880’s. 

To join us on this trip, print the reservation form (click on green button below) and mail it along with your check (made out to the BBC) for $31 per person to the address below. On January 29th, we will conduct our lottery and you will be notified shortly thereafter of your seat confirmation or waitlist status.

Our day will end with about 1½ hours of shopping (or brew sampling) at the Heritage Village in Crystal River.  Because our time is limited, we have selected and notified four particular shops of our anticipated arrival.  They will be delighted to receive us and some discounts will be offered.  We think you will appreciate the uniqueness of these shops and hope they add a pleasant dimension to our day together.

You might enjoy watching the feeding of many manatees hiding out from colder water. We’ll spend a couple of pleasant hours roaming this small park. 

Either on the way into this park or the way back, I hope you will delight in my very favorite pontoon boat ride through a shaded lagoon overlooked by many fine-feathered friends.   While you will want to have appropriate outdoor attire and sturdy footwear, this park is senior friendly and easily walked!

Then, how about lunch at the nearby Seagrass Bar and Grill?   We thoroughly enjoyed this river front restaurant during our research trip.  There is indoor seating, a screened porch, and an outdoor deck which should satisfy everyone’s desires.  You will have about 8 sandwiches, salads, and seafood to choose from.

Liability Waiver:  The BBC has a revised Liability Waiver specific to our club.  Even if you have signed a liability release form in the past for our club, we are asking that you sign the revised one.
